I've always been self-employed. Each year I would learn, master and get certified in a new modality that I could add to my list of services. And up until this year, when business dried up, I had been able to manifest the income I needed, even though I don't like marketing on social media or self-promotion.

People set the goals that they think will make them happy. And it's common for people to write down the same goals, year after year. It's common for people to begin articulating a thought with the statement, "If you're anything like me...". Or, they will speak about a topic leading with the assumption that everyone is like them. They think, if you're in their sphere of influence, you must be "just like me".

After nearly two decades of hustling, people are overwhelmed and work weary, bone-tired and completely burnt out. And rightly so! The glorification of busyness and prioritizing work over everything (and everyone) else, to feed the insatiable hunger for more, has done irreparable damage to people's relationships and destroyed their health.

There's a lot that lies beneath the cover of a book. A fellow human. A real life.

The Fall season is associated with the Metal element. Hard Metal and Soft Metal personal elements thrive during this time of year. It's their season. The other elements can enjoy Autumn too, by celebrating the season with their own unique personal rituals.

Spring and Fall Equinox are the only days of year when yin and yang are in perfect balance. Day and night are approximately the same length just twice a year. On these days in March and September, the sun appears to rise due East and set due West. And we get to celebrate a day of balanced energy between the dark and the light, before slowly rising into the most yang season or gradually descending into the most yin season.

I have named the Mother Earth archetype, "The Lover". This element's Life Center is Love & Partnership. They like being coupled up, having a partner in life and business and being in a committed relationship or loving marriage.

Writing is a labor of love. With my process, it's slow and cyclical as I work my way along the spiral path. And with my commitment to embodying the elements it's all consuming and highly disruptive to my personal life.

After finishing the Mountain Earth guide I've been preparing myself to take on the Mother Earth energy. I know what I'm in for. I've done it before and I'm about to do it again. And like the Mother Earth default emotions of love and hate, I too have a love/hate relationship with this personal feng shui element.
