Three Keys to Success

How to Guarantee Your Own Results

People don’t buy information. They buy results.

~ Marie Forleo

This may be true in business, especially with marketers leading with their own success stories and amazing client testimonials, over promising results and providing money back guarantees. The truth is: no matter how good the information is or how well it is presented, your results depend on YOU! Your results may exceed your own expectations or fall far short of what you are wanting to create for yourself.

People might promise results and you might think you are buying results, but the quality of your life, your health, your relationships, your finances and your business success is the product of your energy, your thoughts and your own inspired actions.

When I finish a feng shui consultation, I say, “You have not been feng shui’d”. What my clients choose to do with my customized recommendations is entirely up to them. I share which ones to prioritize and the purpose of each remedy and enhancement so they understand their importance. I encourage them to implement only the ones that resonate with them and customize my recommendations based on their unique aesthetics so their home is a reflection of who they are.

When people do not experience the results they desire, it can be a combination of a variety of factors. Sometimes there’s a lack of clarity regarding their intentions or a lack of understanding about what it really takes to see results. Other times there’s just a lack of certain skillsets that have not been developed or are just not interesting enough to a person for them to make the effort required to learn something new. Some people believe that knowledge is power and that just reading about something and learning about it on an intellectual level is enough; that no action is required. Other people struggle for years, doing the same things instead of being open to finding the key to open those closed doors.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

~ Albert Einstein

The keys to success are simple, though not easy. They can be applied to anything you want to achieve. Business and financial success, health and personal well-being, relationships and creating a truly fulfilling life. As a feng shui consultant, personal energy and relationship dynamics coach and Usui Reiki Master healer, I’ve seen clients show up without these keys and expect to see the results their friends or my other clients have.

People who have failed, who are struggling or who are ill, do not have one or all of the following three keys to success.

Asking to Receive

Often times I’m asked to share what I know or do some coaching for clients’ friends and family. Or, they’ll gift someone a session with me hoping their friend will receive the same benefit they’ve received from sessions with me. This doesn’t work. The reason it doesn’t work is that the friend hasn’t asked for my help. No matter how well intentioned the person is who asked me to help their friend, their friend will receive little benefit from it, beyond an introduction to me and a referral to my work. Only if they resonate with me and my offerings will it be an energetic match.

To receive, you have to ask. You have to have clarity about what you want. You have to be open to receiving the information, coaching or healing. You have to invite that knowledge, understanding and wisdom into your life. You have to attract the right person for you, to facilitate that Aha! moment or transformational healing.

The key to receiving is to ask.

Being Ready

I don’t know how many times I’ve been hired to feng shui someone’s home or business only for the consultation to be cancelled at the last minute or postponed indefinitely. When I get the call or the email, I know that person was just not ready. Feng Shui changes lives. It requires that people really look at their life and see who they’re being in the world. People intuitively know this and as the consultation day draws near they decide to back out or reschedule because they know they’re not ready to change anything about their space or their life.

I’ve seen the same thing in my personal energy coaching and Reiki practice. Some people need their problems. Issues or illnesses are part of their identity and they don’t know who they would be without their unfulfilling marriage or “dis-ease”.

Coaching provides insights that cause you to see things from a different point of view. People know that if they learn about their personal energy and how to honor it, the way they live in the world will change. People know that if they discover the energy dynamics present in their relationships, their relationship will end or change. And they’re jut not ready for that.

Reiki clears the emotions and energy that have been stored in the physical and energetic bodies. Some people hold on to certain negative emotions on principle or as a protective shield or coping mechanism. They’ve forgotten what it feels like to live in a body without pain, anxiety or discomfort.

To see results, you have to be ready. You have to be ready to let go of who you are and make room for who you have the potential to be. You have to be ready to let go of what you thought you needed. You have to be ready to change, to be ready for the changes that will inevitably come. You have to be ready to be happy, to be well, to be the real YOU!

The key to transforming your life and healing yourself is being ready.

Expressing Appreciation

In the past, I’ve done a lot of trades or bartering for my energy work. I’ve also received requests for free feng shui advice, personal energy coaching and Reiki sessions. One woman asked what the “friend” rate was and even told me she was interested in finding out what she could get for free.

In business, you decide who you provide your services to and what you would like to receive in exchange for your time and talents. In other relationships, you get to offer whatever you would like to in exchange for whatever they have to give. And true friends always support you and the successful of your business by paying full price.

However you are compensated for your work, product or service, it’s important for there to be an exchange of energy. If your work is your primary source of income or you would like it to be, then receiving monetary compensation allows you to do the work you came to do, full time, and in a way that honors your personal energy and financially supports your life. If what you do is your gift to humanity or your family, friends and community, then receiving heartfelt thanks, provides the appreciation you need to continue to do your fulfilling work with a happy heart.

What I have found in over the years of consultations and coaching is that without an exchange of energy, people do not receive all of the benefits from your contribution that they could. People do not value the things they get for free as much as they do when they pay for them. If you pay “good” money for a product or service, you are more likely to use it, pay attention to it, apply it to your life and spend the time and energy it takes to make it your own.

Expressions of appreciation create an energy dynamic in which you become an active participant in the transformation or healing of your own life. It shifts the energy from getting to receiving. It moves the responsibility for change out of someone else’s hands and into your own. It signals your readiness to be all that you already are. It establishes the work you’ve done and allows you to claim your well-deserved reward – a life worth living!

To receive the full benefits of the work you are engaged in, express your appreciation. Pay for your products. Pay the service or coaching fees. Compensate and reciprocate. Say “thank you”. The key to having the work impact you, the coaching better your life or the healing heal you is to express your appreciation. As with everything in life, it’s the last key you try that opens the door!

Don’t buy information; invest in you! Don’t look to others for results; look within. Don’t demand money back guarantees; take what resonates and apply it.

Ask for what you need from the people who you resonate with. And Receive. Be ready and trust that what you need will show up at the perfect time. Express your appreciation for the people, products and services who have helped you heal, transform and be the fullest expression of YOU!

Pearls of Wisdom is a personal blog of the wisdom writings of Dara Eden that fall outside the realms of feng shui, The 8 Elements and her other personal energy work. Established in 2014, the blog is an expression of her highest values: Sovereignty, Truth, Wisdom & Inner Peace. It’s devoted to increasing awareness, expanding consciousness, bringing knowledge, sharing innerstandings and offering wisdom to the sovereign souls inhabiting the Earth.

Dara Eden is a writer and wisdom keepHER. The name, Dara, means “pearl of wisdom”. Pearls are formed when a microscopic irritant, like a grain of sand, embeds itself within the soft tissue of a shelled mollusk. To protect itself, the oyster or clam covers the invading gritty particle with concentric layers of iridescent crystalline calcium to form treasures, pearls of great beauty and worth. Gifts of the sea, pearls are the oldest known gem and the only gem that does not need to be cut, shaped or polished. Pearls are associated with elegance and luxury and are a symbol of mystery and purity. Pearls represent priceless knowledge, the rare wisdom that begins as a tiny, random, common irritant.
