2018: A Year of Blessings

FSYS Blog - 2018 A Year of Blessings

Although the Fire energy does not officially arrive until February, most people are celebrating the 2018 New Year now. Instead of drinking and making resolutions, apply some feng shui principles to your life this time of year. Celebrate with friends and family. And then...

  • Clean, clear and cleanse your space.

  • Count your blessings!

  • Create your vision for 2018.

The 3 Cs

CLEAN After the holidays, as you are taking down the tree and Christmas decorations, is the perfect time to clean as you go. Give your home a thorough cleaning. Sweep and vacuum the floors. Dust and wipe down all the counters. Wash the windows and doors. Clean out the refrigerator. Empty all the trash cans and get rid of all the trash. Change the sheets on your bed. Clean the bathrooms and put out fresh towels. Do the laundry and put your clothes away. Clean up the yard and sweep the path to your front door. Get your car washed and vacuumed.

CLEAR As you clean, look for things you don't need or use anymore. Things you might have duplicates of. Things other people might like or want to use. Throw out, gift or store them away. Declutter.

CLEANSE Don't forget to clear the air. The energy in your home needs to be cleansed too! Open some windows. Light some candles. Ring some bells. Use some incense, sage or Palo Santo to smudge your space. Turn on your aromatherapy diffuser. Follow the directions below to cleanse your home with fire.

Fire Ceremony

Place 1 cup of Epsom salt in an old ceramic cup. Pour a little alcohol on the Epson salt. Light a match and place it in the cup. Cleanse each room of your home in this way at the beginning of the year or any time you feel like you need to clear the air and cleanse the energy of your space.

Now that your home is clean, decluttered and cleansed, it's time to do the same thing with your life. Make a list of all the things you are done with and ready to release. Light it on fire. As you watch it burn, allow yourself to feel the feeling of letting it all go.

Ring in the New Year

Bring some good energy into your home. Stock your frig with healthy, organic foods.  Place a bowl of citrus fruits in your kitchen or dining room. Buy a new plant for your home or office. Add a vase of fresh cut flowers to your living space. Make sure all the lights work in each room of your house. Turn on your Himalayan salt lamp or add some new crystals to your space. Clean your water fountains and make sure they have plenty of fresh, circulating water. Add some bells or a pendulum clock to the NW.

Now that your home has better feng shui, it's time to bring some good chi to your life. Clean out your purse and put some cash in your wallet. Add some new items to your closet. Buy yourself some gold jewelry. Take down the old calendars and put away the old day planners. Hang up the new calendar and start planning your 2018. Make a list of all the things you would like to be, do, have and experience this year.

Blessing Bowl

You’ve heard of a Gratitude Jar. Well, because the Fire element brings blessings, it’s time to start counting your blessings. Find a beautiful large glass or crystal bowl. (It could be red!) You could also use a wooden or metal box. Place it in the center of your home or living room. Select some lovely papers and fun pens.  Write down whatever blessings you receive every day or each week, throughout the year. Place them in your Blessing Bowl as you say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you". Encourage everyone in the family to count their blessings, write them down one by one and put them in the Blessing Bowl.

Vision Bagua

Create a vision board. Select pictures of your Ideal Life, write down your goals with dates and set some intentions for 2018. Place your vision board somewhere you can see it often.

Learn how to apply the power of feng shui principles and the beauty of the art of placement to enhance your vision board. Discover how arranging your images and intentions using feng shui energy blueprints energizes your vision board.
