The Shui in Feng Shui

As many people who dabble in feng shui know, feng shui means “wind and water”. Feng is wind and shui is water. Wind and water are what the ancient Chinese farmers relied on for peaceful, productive and prosperous lives.

As this 2017 Water year begins to evaporate and create space for the incoming Fire energy in 2018, let’s discover the best places to position water features for wealth enhancement.

The use and placement of water features in your space and on your surrounding property is vitally important. Like Fire, Water is an enhancer, intensifier and activator. Water is a wonderful and highly recommended enhancement to your feng shui. However, water can also intensify certain unseen energy and activate dormant energy. So, location and timing are important factors to consider before positioning and plugging in your fountain.

Some recommendations are appropriate for every property, like the 20 year cycle remedies and enhancements. Others require a compass reading, classical flying stars energy blueprint and skilled feng shui consultant. Still others only require knowledge of the annual energy and a simple DIY approach to wealth enhancement.

But before we get to where to place a water feature, let’s learn the guidelines for yang or “moving” water that need to be honored.

Water Feature Dos & Don’ts

1) Yang water features must to kept full of sparkling clean, circulating water.

2) They may include light, colored lights, fish, water plants, crystals or coins.

3) They may include various umbrella or spray effects or a simple water flow.

4)  Waterfalls must flow toward the house or building, not away from it.

5) Do NOT have “disappearing” water features.

6) Do NOT enhance “Peach Blossom” energy if you are already happily married.

20 Year Cycle Water Remedies & Enhancements (2004 – 20024)

• NO WATER in the NE

• WATER in the E

  Good for Hard Wood elements, the eldest son and to enhance your health & family relations.

• WATER in the SW

  Especially good for Mother Earth elements, women, wives and mothers, as well as, marriages and partnerships.

HOUSE TYPE

• Double Facing

  “Good for money; NOT good for people.”

  NO WATER REMEDY required

• Double Sitting

20 YEAR MONEY LOCK

(Requires a classical flying stars energy blueprint)

REMEDY – BIG Water features outside on the property, especially in E & SW

PERMANENT Water Enhancements

(Requires a classical flying stars energy blueprint)

Review your energy blueprint and look for the permanent number in the right corner of each gua. The most auspicious number is 8, followed by 1, 4, 9 and 6, in that order. The numbers located in the guas at the front of the house or building are the most auspicious. Unless your report says not to add Water, activate the guas with the above numbers with a water feature to enhance personal wealth, abundance and prosperity.

There are five areas that can be enhanced with a water feature:

8 – ABUNDANCE

(Increases personal wealth, abundance and prosperity)

Water Feature Element: Fire, Shape: Conical

Outside: 6 tiered fountain with lights or pond with fish and lights

Inside: conical fountain with lights and vibrant colors

NOTE:  If you have a double 8 in the facing (front), place a 6 tiered stone fountain or pond with boulders in that gua outside.

1 – CAREER

 (Enhances careers, increases income, promotes business success)

Water Feature Element: Metal, Shape: Circular

Outside: 6 tiered fountain

Inside: Circular metal water feature

4 – ROMANCE

 (Increase opportunities for romance, invitation to speak, write, educate and sales)

Water Feature Element: Water, Shape: Kidney or Irregular

Outside: Lighted kidney shaped pond and waterfall with fish

Inside: Aquarium, fish bowl, glass water fountain

9 – FUTURE PROSPERITY

 (Accumulates wealth for you to enjoy in the next twenty-year cycle from 2024 – 2048)

Water Feature Element: Wood, Shape: Column

Outside: 3 or 4 level or tiered waterfall or fountain enhanced with plants and lighting

Inside: 3 or 4 level or tiered water feature/fountain enhanced with plants like bamboo

6 – WEALTH

(Increases potential for windfalls, monetary gifts, inheritances, savings, investments, referral business, retirement, travel)

Water Feature Element: Earth, Shape: square or rectangular

Outside: Stone fountain or pond/waterfall with 2 or 8 stones

Inside: Square shaped stone water fountain

Annual Water Enhancements

Everyone can enhance their home or business with a water feature based on the annual energy. Take a compass reading, draw a floor plan and overlay and nine square grid over it. Then, mark the directions to determine where your water feature(s) can be placed to enhance wealth for the current year.
