Fall Fun

HR Blog - Fall Fun

RITUAL: Seasonal Planning | SEASON: Fall | MONTH: October

Part of being connected with nature is attuning your life to the annual cycles and celebrating the changing seasons. One of the best ways to thoroughly enjoy each of the four seasons is to do some seasonal planning. Make a list of the activities you’d like to do, outings you'd like to go on and seasonal foods you’d like to make or eat.

Making your Fall Fun list could be a simple as typing into the notes app on your phone. Or, you could create an interactive flyer with check boxes in Canva to print out and put on your frig for the whole family to see. Or, you could get some poster board and create a larger artistic bucket list to hang on a wall in a high traffic area of your home.

Items to include on your annual Fall Fun list:

  • Something to drink

  • Something apple or pumpkin flavored to eat

  • Something to bake

  • Somewhere to go

  • Some activity to do

  • Some diy to make

  • Some item to decorate with

  • Some gathering to host or festival to attend

If seasonal home decor, food or activities aren’t your thing, do something autumnal just for you! Create a seasonal playlist or reading list. Create a seasonal morning or evening routine. Create a seasonal sweater collection or capsule wardrobe. Create a seasonal scented candle or personal fragrance with essential oils. Create a seasonal personal space in your bedroom, reading nook or altar.

Fall Fun

People like to binge TV shows that are set in small towns or that have a dark academia theme or witchy vibes, this time of year. Millennials are obsessed with rewatching Gilmore Girls or having a Harry Potter movie marathon every Fall. Hallmark’s Good Witch has all the small town and autumnal vibes with just as many of the annoying townspeople and Merriwick women with witchy smirks and knowing looks. Instead of wizardry, I like watching the practical magic in episodes of The Great British Baking Show.

Other wholesome TV shows, set in small towns, to watch in the Fall are: Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Friday Night Lights, Once Upon a Time, Smallville, Bunheads, Chesapeake Bay, When Calls the Heart, Cranford, Lark Rise to Candleford, Christy, Call the Midwife, Anne of Green Gables, Anne with an E, Road to Avonlea, When Hope Calls, Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias.
