The 8 Elements uses the Chinese solar calendar, which begins on February 4th each year. It's the only personal profiling system that takes male and female sex* into consideration.
IMPORTANT: For birth dates between Jan 1 – Feb 3 use the previous year to determine your personal element.
Example: For a woman born on January 12, 1978 you would look up the personal element for 1977 on the chart for females.

*Sex is a reality and scientific fact. Male and female sex is based on sex chromosomes. Biological sex does not change with “feelings” or “identity”, gender dysmorphia or gender ideology, legal name change or preferred pronoun declarations, fashion choices or makeup applications, or with medical interventions, like drugs and surgeries.
The 8 Elements is based on your biological male or female sex. If you identify as something other than your biological sex, I recommend the Nine Star Ki system instead of The 8 Elements.
