Annual Writuals

HR Blog - Annual Writuals

RITUAL: Writing | SEASON: Winter | HOLIDAY: New Year's

2023 is the Year of the Writer. Soft Wood element years inspire us to articulate and express, record and share our thoughts in writing. You don’t have to publish a book or a blog to be a writer. You can just keep a journal or write letters to yourself or the people you love.

As the year ends and a new one begins, set the tone by writing some journal entries or letters to clear the energy, create space for what you’re intending to receive and express appreciation for all you already have and the good already on its way.

Thank You Cards

Write thank you cards to everyone who loved and supported you this year.

Send thank you cards to everyone who gave you a Christmas gift or hosted a holiday party, event or dinner.

Then, write thank you cards to all of your clients and customers in appreciation for supporting your small business this year.

Forgiveness Letters

Write letters of forgiveness to all the people who’ve hurt you, intentionally or unintentionally.

Instead of sending the letter, set them on fire and state, “I forgive you. I clear all blame, anger and resentment. I reclaim all of my energy and am made whole again.”

Next, envision all the people in your life - family, friends, children, partner, colleagues, customers, clients, social media followers. One by one speak their name before repeating the clearing mantra…

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

Thank you.

I love you.

Then, write a letter forgiving yourself for anything you did or didn’t do that you’re not proud of. Read your letter aloud and set it afire repeating the mantra…”I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”

Love Letters

Write a love letter to 2022, describing in great detail all of the highlights of the year, favorite things you enjoyed and life lessons you learned.

Then, write a love letter to yourself expressing appreciation for your devotion to your intentions and desires, commitment to honoring your values, integrity and authenticity and acknowledging all of your personal growth and accomplishments from consistently performing your morning routines to meeting your financial goals.

Next, write a love letter to 2023, expressing gratitude in advance for all of the many blessings it holds for you and your life in the coming year.

Finally, write a love letter to your future self, listing all of your dreams and describing all your desires and asking for guidance and wisdom about how to manifest them.

Future Self Letter

Finally, write a letter to your future self.

Read your letter from last year first. Then, write a new letter on futureme.org and requested that this year’s letter be sent to you a year from today.

Include advise, wisdom, hopes, dreams, goals, intentions, desires, predictions, encouragement, congratulations…

Make this a gift you give your future self each year. Write your future self into existence.

If you don’t want to use this website’s service or prefer letters to emails, just write a handwritten letter and keep it somewhere safe to open on this day next year.

Happy New Year!
