The End of Greed

T8E Blog - The End of Greed

Elevating Through the Octaves of Abundance

The following is an excerpt from the 2022 annual personal energy guide for the Mountain Earth element.

Greed

The default emotion for Mountain Earth elements is greed. Greed is a low vibe emotion you feel in response to a desperate need to have more. It’s an intense desire to have more than enough. You know you’re made for more and you act as if you are entitled to it. So you take more than you need and hoard it in an attempt to feel safe.

Man can satisfy his needs but not his greed.
~ Rahul Jaiswal

Greed is an all-consuming and selfish desire for material wealth. It’s a powerful craving for more with elements of self-entitlement and hoarding. You could even say it's the love of money that’s the proverbial root of all evil. This is especially true when the greediness involves taking and withholding from others.

This “love of money” can become an unhealthy obsession with materialism. It can keep you single focused on getting more money and keeping it all, acquiring a mountain of material things and hoarding them. All of your time and energy is put into generating money through income producing activities, tipping the scales of work and life out of balance.

It is not the man who has little, but he who desires more, that is poor.
~ Seneca

Energetically, greed is the lowest octave of abundance. It’s based in poverty consciousness. And it keeps you in survival mode, even when you’re not.

There are higher octaves of greed that are based in prosperity consciousness. These elevated states of being can be established with intention and through daily practice. They rely on mastering manifestation and tuning into the frequency of abundance instead of employing manipulation.

The octave above the greedy love of money is the desire for support. Support, both physically and financially, is something Mountain Earth elements provide for everyone in their lives. And it’s something they need to experience themselves in order to be in good shape and be able to feel abundant enough to manifest what they need and desire.

The octave above the desire for support is the ecstasy of manifestation. This energy is different from Soft Metal’s Jedi mind tricks for being a magnet to money or Hard Metal’s mastermind over matter. This is an embodiment of infinite abundance that manifests through an energetic match in frequency to that which you’re placing your attention on and intending to bring into your reality and physical experience.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold,
To dungeons deep and caverns old,
We must away, ere break of day,
To seek our pale enchanted gold.
~ J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit

Like the hard working, yet greedy dwarves, Mountain Earth elements diligently work on amassing their mountains of gold. Wealth building becomes a worthwhile challenge they willingly take on. Every step they take, every move they make is in service to their bottom line at the end of the day.

Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.
~ Erich Fromm

Physically, greed can feel like being in a constant state of lack or survival. It’s a hungry, wanting energy that never seems to be satiated. Whether Mountain Earth elements spend all their money, save it all or use it to just survive, it’s never enough. They always want more. And when they get more it’s still never enough.

He who is greedy is always in want.
~ Horace

On a scale of 1-1,000, greed vibrates at the level of desire/craving, which is 125 on David Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness. Adam Phillips says that being greedy “is a way of avoiding making choices: if I have everything, I don’t have to choose what I want. And choosing what I want means giving up some pleasures for other pleasures.” There’s just so many good things to have, do and be, you want it all!

I serve, I deserve.
~ Denise Duffield Thomas

We’ve been taught that we can have it all. That we should be able to have it all. So, instead of doing the inner work to determine what it is that is actually deserving of your energy, you work toward having more of everything - because you deserve to have it all, even though you may not need or want it all.

There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed.
~ Mahatma Gandhi

Over the next year we will begin moving out of greed and be given opportunities to shift into its higher octaves. All of your physical and financial, monetary and material needs are completely valid. And there is enough, more than enough for you and for everyone.

So, choose to see the abundance instead of the scarcity in the world. Act on that knowing by giving instead of taking and wisely saving instead of hoarding. And have clarity about what you really need to be happy so you can give yourself the gift of contentment and stop trying to do it all to have it all!

Challenge is the pathway to engagement and progress in our lives. But not all challenges are created equal. Some challenges make us feel alive, engaged, connected, and fulfilled. Others simply overwhelm us. Knowing the difference as you set bigger and bolder challenges for yourself is critical to your sanity, success, and satisfaction.
~ Brendon Burchard
